Do you know the uses of the internet?

Since a few years, the internet has been a new tool in our lives reaching at every people and connecting until the most isolated places around the world. However, the internet also has a bad use and it can be prejudicial for children.

On the one hand, many people are convinced that this tool which is used to talk with friends and family when they are far from home is a good method to feel closer and keep communicated. This is because the internet is faster and cheaper to use than send a letter or make a phone call. An additional advantage of the internet is the access to information because now it is easier and if you need a book you do not have to go to the library. Also, many people are in favor of the internet because there you can buy every kind of things in stores around the world.

On the other hand, we can highlight the information, because on the internet there are a lot of bad and unpleasant information such as pornography, explicit violence or terrorism, affecting specially to children and teenagers. Some people are against the internet as a result of a dependency and addiction, forgetting many things that you must to do. An additional disadvantage it is the main method of piracy because many artists are losing money because of that.

Taking everything mentioned before into account, I can say that the internet is a useful tool in our life. However, there are people who use it as a pervert tool with pornography, to show violence or something like that, been prejudicial to children and teenagers with several bad consequences.

A feeling of discontent

A little review of mapuches

Nowadays in Museo de la memoria, there is a section dedicated to aboriginal people such as Mapuches, showing to the visitors perspectives of then and how do they are feeling actually in the Chilean country.

Moreover in the museum there is a great sign on the wall with a picture of a Mapuche and screaming “Me cago en el V-centenario”. That expression could be and offensive form of show his discontent, but that make realize about the discontent of Mapuches in Chile.

At the present time they feel kind of discrimination from the other Chileans because there is a historical event named Guerra de Arauco, which event was a conquest of Spanish and they could not do it.

In addition, there is a huge resistance from Mapuches and nowadays they do not feel like a Chilean people compared with the other persons. I think that the Mapuches could be feel of discontent, but they are Chileans even whether they are not conquest by Spanish because we live on the same land, and we must to feel a entity of Nation beyond the Spanish event.

Where does "gringo" word from?

There are many theories about the name of “gringo”, the oldest version comes from Roman times and his Latin proverb “graecum est; non potesti legi”, meaning of “is in Greek, can’t be read”. This phrase has been used in many European countries and persons, such as Shakespeare: “It’s all greek to me” (Julius Cesar).

In addition, it’s interesting to know that the gospels were written on greek before latin. However, some historians believe in the association to “greek” with “foreigner” to indicate that the greek language wasn’t necessary to understand the holy scriptures.

Moreover, “gringo” word appear written on Spanish XVIII c. in the famous “Diccionario Castellano”(1786-1793) researched by father Esteban de Terreros y Pando, explaining that the word was used to refeer someone (foreign) who speak Spanish with difficulties.

In other hand, “gringo” word could be a transformation of the word “greek” because “gringo” word appears on RAE (Royal Spanish Academy) first time in the year 1869 and was defined: “familiarly voice used. Also used as a greek in this phrase: talk in gringo, doing it on a language unintelligible”.

Alternative ending of "The people next door"

Suddenly, i heard a noise from the other side of the yard, then I went to see it and I can’t see anything through thickets, so I didn’t have choice and I climbed the fence to know what is happening there since Budd and Shirlee moved out the house. However, I didn’t know what kind of things had that house and yard, and then I saw an opened door, I walked to through it and explore the house inside, and meanwhile I can hear voices: “Lily, we’re waiting you”. When i was walking, I can feel a cold breath in my back. That’s scary.

Moreover, at the moment when I was reaching to the living room I saw a table at the middle with three chairs in it, but after to reach at that table, the voice it was louder, and began to appear shadows but, in each step the shadows began to make it more and more clear. I can saw three familiar faces, my husband, son and daughter. Then I decided to ask them “why are you here?” and they said “we’re here because you’re dead, you did it in an accident and you don’t know it, you were dead, in a deepest dream of coma, and you must to go”.

After that, I didn’t understand, and just questions came to my mind… So, I asked to my husband “how do you explain every moment lived?”, then he said “it just your mind, because you don’t know when do you die”. Suddenly, I felt strange because my body it was vanishing and I could see how began to disappear my legs, arms, and then my mind and voice was silenced, no more words, no more thoughts, just another life into the world and transformed in a new soul of the nature.
